Event Highlights: Energy & Climate Festival 2026

On 9 May 2026, COREu took part in the Energy and Climate Festival in Karlsruhe, represented by Steinbeis Europa Zentrum. Held at the city’s market square, the festival brought together a wide range of organisations and initiatives, each presenting their work through interactive booths and activities designed to engage the public on climate and energy topics.

At the booth of Steinbeis Europa Zentrum, COREu focused on connecting with citizens in a clear, accessible, and engaging way. While the project regularly communicates with experts from academia and industry, reaching the wider public is just as important, especially children and young people. Creating early awareness helps build a deeper understanding of the climate challenge and the different pathways towards achieving net zero.

Through a combination of interactive games and simple, hands on explanations, visitors were introduced to the goals of COREu and the broader topic of carbon management. The activities created an open and welcoming space for dialogue, encouraging participants to ask questions, share their perspectives, and explore solutions together.

The engagement throughout the day was highly encouraging. We welcomed more than 300 visitors from all walks of life at our booth, leading to many thoughtful, curious, and inspiring conversations. These exchanges reflected a strong public interest in climate action and highlighted the importance of communicating complex topics in a way that is both understandable and relevant to everyday life.

We hope that these interactions helped raise awareness of the role that innovative carbon management solutions can play in reaching Europe’s climate goals and inspired continued interest in sustainable pathways for the future. It was a wonderful way to celebrate Europe Day, marked by a day full of curiosity, lively exchange, and shared ideas for a more sustainable future.
