Stara Glass leads the Glass Industry Emission Reduction Alliance within the COREu Project
Stara Glass is coordinating the Glass Industry Emission Reduction Alliance (ERA) within the European project COREu (CO₂ Routes across Europe), one of the most significant EU-funded initiatives focused on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).

Women in Science at COREu – Meet Dr. Mabel San Román Niaves
Every year on 11 February, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science celebrates the curiosity, dedication, and impact of women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). At COREu, we are proud to shine a light on the women whose expertise and commitment are helping to shape a more sustainable future. One of them is Dr. Mabel San Román Niaves, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Bologna (Unibo). With an academic background in social science, Mabel works at the intersection of human behaviour, technology, and sustainability, contributing essential perspectives to technically complex projects. In this interview, she shares her interdisciplinary journey into STEM, her role in COREu, and the inspirations that drive her research.

Women in Science at COREu – Meet Dr. Anna Król
At COREu, we are proud to shine a light on the women whose expertise and commitment are helping to shape a more sustainable future. One of them is Dr. Anna Król, Researcher at Oil and Gas Institute (INiG-PIB), who shares her journey into STEM, her work in COREu, and her advice for girls and young women considering a career in science.

Women in Science at COREu – Meet Dr. Alexandra Log
At COREu, we are proud to shine a light on the women whose expertise and commitment are helping to shape a more sustainable future. One of them is Dr. Alexandra Log, Research Scientist at SINTEF Energy Research, who shares her journey into STEM, her work in COREu, and the inspirations that drive her research.

Environmental baseline monitoring with eDNA sampling
"eDNA" is DNA left by organisms in their environment. This course introduces what eDNA is, how it’s analysed, and why it’s a valuable tool in baseline data collection in COREu.

Joint webinar on CO₂ impurities in the CCUS chain!
COREu is excited be part of the online webinar "Impact of CO2 impurities on the CCUS chain deployment from different perspectives", together with three other EU-funded projects.

Lunch&Learn: eDNA sampling around CO₂ storage sites
In this webinar, we will explore the innovative use of environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling within Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects. In COREu, eDNA is being applied to collect baseline biodiversity data in a Mediterranean CCS setting, offering a novel approach to environmental monitoring. We will discuss the methodology for sampling and analyzing eDNA, focusing on its potential to track species occurrence, including rare and elusive species, over long periods. This session will also highlight the importance of establishing reference locations and biobanks for future use in monitoring the long-term impacts of CCS on biodiversity. Join us to learn how eDNA can play a crucial role in shaping effective and sustainable CCS strategies.

Dimostrazione di sistemi di trasferimento e iniezione di CO2
In Norvegia, MacGregor condurrà un test a terra su un'innovativa soluzione di scarico che consente il trasferimento e l'iniezione diretta di CO2 da una nave.
